Top 10 New Year’s Resolutions for 2010
At the start of 2009, FranklinCovey Products, a global retailer, released the results of its fourth annual New Year’s resolutions Survey which polled 527 customers. Here are the results for both 2009 and the previous year…

TOP 10 NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS FOR 20081. Get out of debt or save money |
As you will see, the top new year’s resolution in both 2008 and 2009 was to get out of debt. No surprise really when you take into account the economic downturn of the last two years. I’m guessing it won’t be that different in 2010 either, with most people coming up with finance-related new year’s resolutions for 2010, such as:
- save for the future
- reduce household expenses
- create and stick to a budget
- seek additional/better sources of income
- discontinue using credit cards/store cards
Despite well-intended New Year’s resolutions, the survey found that more than 75 percent of respondents will break their New Year’s resolutions within 3 months and almost one-third will break them by the end of January. Why? Forty-three percent say they are not committed to the New Year’s resolutions they set and 25 percent say they have too many other things to do. Don’t want to fall into this bracket? See my post on keeping your new years resolutions in 2010.

2010 resolutions: Practicing stuff that will make a difference:
To live in gratitude each day, write this in a journal.
To live less in judgement. Make a mental note each time I judge and replace this with a good thought.
